The Sharp Aquos 2 brings the much sought after bezel free design to the mid-range section. It seems to have taken inspiration from the Essential Phone and the recent iPhone X leaks. Below we take a quick look at it.
Specifications of the Sharp Aquos 2
The smartphone has two variations. As mentioned above, the device targets the mid range section so the specs fit in with that range. The first variation uses a Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 630, 4 GB of RAM. It comes with 64 GB of internal memory. The second makes use of a Snapdragon 660, 6 GB of RAM and offers up to128 GB of storage. The phone also comes with a dual camera set up on the back.
The device offers two f/1.75 lenses. These lenses are located in a vertical manner. Below the lenses is where the flash is located. This seems to align with the leaks of the new iPhone. The Sharp Aquos 2 has a 3020 mAh battery and the home button doubles as a fingerprint scanner. It will also run Android 7.0 out of the box.
Display and design of the Sharp Aquos 2
Both versions boast a 5.5-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 1080 x 2040 pixels. This means that the display comes with a 17:9 ratio, including the notification bar at the top. The whole set up will fit into a very compact body. The screen to body ratio sits at 87.5%. This beats most of the top end devices such as the Galaxy S8 by almost 3.5%.
Price and availability of the Sharp Aquos 2
China is the only place where you can purchase the phone. It is unclear if sales would be done elsewhere as the company has not mentioned anything about an international release. The less powered handset sells at $372 and the more powerful version sells at $520.
