Nokia 2: Hands on review

HMD Global has released their most affordable smartphone in the form of the Nokia 2. Here we take a look at the device.

Specs of the Nokia 2

The device comes with some of the most modest specs you will see in a 2017 era smartphone. On the side of processors, it has a Snapdragon 212 and comes with a meagre 1 GB of RAM. The device runs Android 7.1.2 out of the box. HMD Global has promised quick updates, including monthly security patches for a long time. The performance is quite smooth and is not laggy as you might assume when you look at the specs. It comes with 8 GB of internal storage, out of which only 5 GB is available for use. The good news is that it can be expanded to 128 GB thanks to the micro SD slot. The Nokia 2 offers a five inch HD LCD display.

A crazy 4100 mAh battery powers the device. The company says it can power the device for up to two days. In addition to that, it comes with an 8 MP on the back that takes crisp photos and a 5 MP camera on the front.

Design of the Nokia 2

The device has a pretty premium design. This is quite hard to believe given the price tag. It has a polycarbonate back that boasts a matte finish and a metal grill that is made out of series 6000 aluminium. The company has paid a great deal of attention to the design and ergonomics of the device. The 5 inch form factor helps keep the device portable and easy to use with one hand.

Pricing and availability of the Nokia 2

The phone is being sold at an unbelievable price tag of $115. HMD Global has not given details on the availability of the device yet.
