With an average of seven screens per American household, there may be plenty of competition to get on Netflix in your home. The number of devices that can simultaneously watch Netflix on one account depends on the type of account you have.
How Many People Can Simultaneously Watch Netflix?
- If you have a Basic subscription and are paying $7.99 a month, that means you can only watch Netflix on one screen.
- If you have a Standard subscription and are paying $10.99 a month, that means you can watch Netflix on two screens at the same time.
- If you have a Premium subscription and are paying $14.99 a month, that means you can watch Netflix on four screens at the same time.
How Many Netflix Profiles Can You Have?
With Netflix’s multiple profile feature, you can keep all your watching habits totally separate, and can also create kid-friendly profiles for your young ones.
You can create up to five Netflix profiles on one account.
Should You Share Your Netflix Password?
Much has been written about this topic, but the short answer is that technically you can. While they are presented as household accounts, Netflix doesn’t restrict use by IP address. After all, you could be watching Netflix on-the-go on your phone.
While some of your own local laws might restrict password sharing, as is the case in Tennessee for example, legal experts weighing in on the subject have said it’s unlikely that Netflix will go after users.
And the Netflix CEO himself described password sharing as a positive thing. All that being said, some predict that pressure from investors may result in restrictions on password sharing simply due to lost revenue.
