NEW DELHI: Xiaomi has introduced a new way that makes it easier for its users to track their device repair status. They can now easily track device repair status from the mi.com website.
"You usually call the service centre executive to know the status of your device given for repair. Now with the help of service order status, you can easily track your device and know its service status online," says the firm in its blog post.
All they need to do is to feed their contact details, order, service or the IMEI number to receive an OTP or One Time Password on the registered contact number. Feeding the OTP on the website will show the real time status of the repair request to the users.
There are four stages of responses which users will be able to see - under inspection, work in progress, ready for delivery, delivered or cancelled.
With an aim to make offline service simpler and easier to access for users, Xiaomi is also gearing up to expand even more with more plants and capacity.
The Chinese tech firm earlier this year told PTI that it plans to set up more plants and capacity to ramp up its smartphone and other device production in the country.
For now, Xiaomi has three manufacturing plants with two of them placed in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh and the third one set up in Noida. The Noida manufacturing unit for now works on the company"s power banks.
On a related note, the smartphone maker recently rolled out Android Oreo for Mi A1. A new report now states that the update for the handset will get fast charging support as well. Along with this, the Oreo update will also enable the apps to load faster and with improved animations. All this will come in addition to obvious Android Oreo inbuilt features.
