Samsung is more known for its flagship Note 8 and other devices. Nevertheless, the company still makes excellent mid range devices. The Samsung Galaxy A8 and A8 Plus (2018) are testaments to that statement.
The Galaxy A8 is the epitome of the company’s mid range series.
Design of the Samsung Galaxy A8 and A8 Plus (2018)
The Samsung series deliver a very premium design. It does not come with the iconic curved design but the popular Infinity Display makes an appearance on the devices. The super AMOLED displays feature the 18:5:9 aspect ratio and come with a resolution of 2220 x 1080. The fingerprint sensor sits on the back right below the camera. Samsung has still not realized the foolishness of setting the sensor next to the camera! The Samsung Galaxy A8 and the A8 Plus will be available in the following colours; black, grey, gold, and blue
Specs of the Samsung Galaxy A8 and A8 Plus (2018)
Starting with the display, the regular model comes with a 5.6-inch display. The Plus model has a six inch display. They have a resolution of 441 and 412 respectively. Samsung has still not released any information on the processor that will be used in the device. The same applies to the GPU but the regular version will have 4 GB of RAM. The A8 Plus will come in two variants; 4 GB and 6 GB of RAM. Users get to choose between 32 gigs or 64 gigs for storage. Of course, you do have a micro SD card slot that supports cards up to 256 GB.
Where things get really interesting is in the cameras. Both of them have a dual camera mechanism but… it is on the front rather than the rear. There is 16 MP + an 8 MP sensor in the front that should give you beautiful portrait pictures. On the back is a normal 16 MP sensor with f/1.7 aperture.
