Eve V Quick overview

Eve V is a crowd funding laptop that was built using feedback from its funders. The V is decent-looking, performs with little-to-no hiccups, and offers lengthy battery life

Design of the Eve V

When you look at this hybrid laptop from a design view, it does not really stand out. It’s a plain-looking device whether being used as a laptop or a tablet. However, this is not to say that the device is ugly. Made from a single slab of aluminium, it is thin and on the light side. Overall, the finish of the product is up to par with other laptops such as the Surface laptop. It comes in only black.

Along the left side is a 3.5mm audio jack, a USB-C 3.0 port, a USB-C Thunderbolt 3 port, and a USB 3.0 port. Along the right side is a USB 3.0 port positioned below the power button (also a fingerprint scanner) and volume rocker. There is also a micro SD card slot hidden behind the kickstand.

The V ships with a 12.3-inch display that has a resolution of 2880 x 1920. Both the size (11.6 x 8 x .4in) and weight (2lb) are pleasant. The Eve V includes the keyboard and stylus without any additional cost. The keyboard feels quite cheap and comes in black.

Eve V

The 48Wh battery, which contributed to the extra thickness for the body, gets you about nine hours on a single charge. There is hardly any bloat ware on the device with only Microsoft’s collection of apps and services pre-installed. The Eve V hybrid laptop functions just as the Microsoft Surface series functions. Furthermore, it sells at a much lower price than the Microsoft offerings and comes with the keyboard and the stylus – two components that Microsoft sells for n additional $298.
